My New Gen 5 Glock 19

Picked up my Gen 5 Glock 19 today. No frame customization done yet (tomorrow), but I note that the inner workings are quite different from the Gen 4 pistols. The trigger assembly is similar to the G43, in that an L-shaped bar hooks onto the cruciform. Also, instead of a trigger spring that is stretched, the Gen 5 trigger spring is compressed. Hrm…

Much study ensues.

Update: After contouring and stippling

G19 Gen5 stippled

Glad to see you back. I have always been in favor of the finger grooves, kinda sad to see them go. I could care less about all the ambi stuff these days. I've heard it's more reliable, but out of 35,000 rounds I've had only 5 malfunctions, 2 gun related, 3 ammo related from my primary G19. I'm happy with those numbers. Keep it posted for how it goes

Thanks. I took an illness + moving hiatus. Back in gear now. I, too, like the finger grooves and don't necessarily like this flat-front grip. I believe I'll eventually contour the front strap to approximate finger "grooves" to fit my hand. At which point I'll have to re-stipple that area. :-/ I shot it today for the first time and found it to be quite nice and highly accurate for me. It's a Glock. No worries.
